Tour of Ceramics China, late Spring 2008

May 28-June 12, 2008: Beijing, Xi'an, Jingdezhen, Yixing and Shanghai. Fee =
$3,850. Please visit www.Chinese ClayArt.com for details.We have been doing=
exchange programs since 1999. The "Ceramics China" tour is held twice a ye=
ar: in early summer (economic) and in mid-October (with upgraded hotels). O=
ur itinerary is based on the two most important ceramic areas: Jingdezhen-T=
he Capital of Porcelain Ware since the Song Dynasty, and Yixing-the Teapot =
Making Center of the World, plus three popular tourism cities: Beijing, Sha=
nghai and Xi'an. We believe that these are the five most popular cities for=
a ceramic artist's first time in China. Each time, we made a little change=
for different scenery, such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, the Yellow Mountains and =
the Yangzi River/Three Gorges Cruz. During the tours, we travel from the mo=
dern cities with high rise buildings to historical ceramic villages. We vis=
it ceramic art studios, factories, clay tools stores, museums and antique m=
arkets, plus some regular tourism sites, such as the Forbidden City, the Gr=
eat Wall, and the Terra-cotta Warriors, and sometimes we also visit art sch=
ools, have a slides talk, and have hands-on clay programs with ceramic art =
faculty and students (optional, based on the schedule). During the tours, y=
ou may also meet some Chinese national ceramic masters and/or have a banque=
t with high ranking government officers. Please visit our website for updat=
ed information at www.ChineseClayArt.com.=20

Wooden Molds for Clay and Wheat

=20

We have received some emails that asked for the Moon Cake recipe. The proce=
ss is very similar to using wheat to make food products and using clay to m=
ake art projects. Many kitchen supplies may be used for clay, such as the r=
olling pins. Chinese Clay Art has borrowed the ideas from Chinese tradition=
al moon cake molds and developed them into 24 different wooden molds now. F=
or the Chinese moon cake recipe, please click on: chinesefood.moon cake=20
