My Alpine 20cu.ft. updraft with a fiber lining, sits outside in a
pretty open shed, as well as my kiln shelves. Sometimes my pots or
sculpture sit in the kiln for a week while I make more to fill the
kiln. All absorbing moisture, the weather is mild by most standards,
but it all absorbs the moisture. I put the pilot ring and burner pilots
on overnight always. Gas is cheap, my work isn't, and neither was the
brick and fiber.Mike Gordon
