Thanks to everyone who sent comments about how to help the sick kiln. Checked the elements and none are bad. We're going to take out the thermocouples and see if they are still good.

Make sure the thermocouples are in the correct firing
chamber zones. If they are in the wrong zones, you will get
an error message near the end of the firing.

Whenever you get an error message, write down the message in
a firing log book (i.e. Err1, Errd, etc.) along with the
kiln temperature and firing time. That will help in
diagnosing the problem.
