Hello everyone,

I am new to clayart and am enjoying all of the postings..the good, the bad and the ugly!
I have felt like the shy kid in the back of the class afraid to raise my hand...but here goes.

My husband and I met in the early 90's through a personals ad in ceramics monthly. To make a long story short, I moved 600 miles east, began Romanick Pottery in 1994 and married my "mail order clay man" in 1999. 14 years later we are still going strong, creating...re-creating and loving our clay covered life! Who else to understand why we feel the need to test 25-200 gram samples of THE SAME color glaze, stay up til all hours monitoring a kiln or any of the countless obsessive clay driven things we do than another clay minded person? We have come to understand one another's strengths and weaknesses and never stop pushing each other to the next level.......or over the brink....whichever comes 1st!

Don't you other "pro couples" out there love it when ideas start flowing and soon the dining room table becomes a work table covered with scraps of paper showing a dozen different views of a pot, then you run out of paper and you're tracing pot profiles in the air, talking over one another and finally realizing your dinner is cold and the dog hasn't been fed?!

Okay, on to mold making. I personally hate to mess with molds but the engineering part of it excites me...hate plaster! Thought this site may be of interest to you: www.townsendatelier.com have at it!

Keep passing the open windows!
