Hi, all. Sunday's New York Times had two treasures for me. One was
a page
of pots and jewelry from Ban Chiang. The pictures online were in
color. My paper
was finally delivered to my porch late in the afternoon in a big
snowstorm
and the same pictures were in black and white in the paper.
Article is called: Thai Antiquities, Resting Uneasily by Jori Finkel
The other very interesting article is in the Art section as well.
A Richard Bresnahan teapot being held by an architect who will have
something
in the Whitney show, is selling his geodesic dome but hanging onto
his teapot.
It has a very strange spout and a cane handle. The glaze is
described as "very hippy, like it
is still forming itself." I am guessing it is a Shino.
Bresnahan is well-known, is part of the St. John University pottery
dept. in Minnesota, I think
it is in Avon. I did see the Abbey Church there once while visiting
a friend years ago.
Teapot in the news should be the subject of my post.
Bacia, seeing that we have had 82" of snow so far and very tired of
it by now.
