I was able to get the technician from the energy company to install another
meter, this time inline with my smaller kiln. It's made from k25 brick, and
pulls 8800watts, using ≈2mm thick elements.
The main thoughts against the design were that because of the slightly
denser brick and 2.5" walls it would struggle to hit the temp's I wanted, or
that it would consume too much power.
From the readings I'm gathering, the kiln doesn't struggle a bit... ^12
being a breeze --nor is it inefficient in terms of electrical consumption.
So far, I've metered a ^10.5 firing (+ a 4 hour heat soak), a low-fire ^020,
