To those interested in Yixing pottery,
I've finally got around to finding whatever books are available about
Yixing pottery. Basically the few very good books on the subject are in
Chinese and published in Taiwan. I have two ISBN numbers for two books
if you want to get your local bookstore to track down a copy.
The first is an 88 page softcover book with a nice selection of pieces
in color and some background on each of the potters & artists. In
English & Chinese. Title: Selected Works of Contemporary YiXing
Potters. Publishe by Urban Council, Hong Kong 1994.
ISBN 962 215 122 1.
The second is a more comprehensive hardcover book all in chinese by with
good quality color photos. Title (translated in English) YiXing Purple
Clay Ceramic Arts.
Published in Taiwan. Publisher Nam Tian Publishing 1989 (publisher's
tel no. if you want to try (02) 362-0190). ISBN 957-638-080-4.
