throwing pains: more thoughts

I've had a semi-wrecked back for more years than I care to remember, but a few years back I discovered that if I put a block of wood at the back of the seat it helped in two ways.
1) when throwing seated, you lean into the clay to centre it, and your bum immediately tries to head in the opposite direction. To combat this you try to stop it. and you are on a very short road to recurring back pain .
Putting what I call a Bum Stop on the seat cures that completely.
2) I set the Bum Stop so that I have a completely straight back when in centering mode, that way I can maintain a strong position, and still be in good shape after a day's production.
Nowadays I have a Shimpo which of course came sans seat, so I use a a stool with shortened front legs to tilt it forward, a ridge at the back to reinforce it's Bum Stoppability, and rubber feet to stop the little b****r sliding on the concrete floor.

Have a great NCECA, I'll be back one day soon I hope.
