A friend of mine is going to Boston for a business conference and has =
invited me to join her at the end for a few days of fun. I'll have one =
day (April 2) when she's still working, and I'd like to explore some =
clay sites/sights. Any recommendations? We'll be staying at the Sheraton =
on Dalton Street.
I'd also welcome recommendations for restaurants, and anything else we =
shouldn't miss. This is my first (and maybe only?) visit to Boston.=20
Thanks in advance!

Jeannean: I'm sure I won't be the only person to tell you this, but
you must go to the Pucker Gallery on Newbury St. It's a great place to
see pots by people like Phil Rogers, Shimaoka, Hamada, Brother Thomas
and a wide variety of other potters. Ask to go to one of the upstairs
rooms to see pots not on display in the main gallery. They're happy to
do that. And you'll see some terrific pots.
Newbury Street, with its galleries and shops, will occupy you for some
time, also. Walk back across the Public Garden and the Common to Beacon
Hill, see the capitol and go back among the cool, old neighborhoods of
Beacon Hill. Walk down to the North End for good Italian food, or over
near the theater district and Chinatown for Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai,
Cambodian or Chinese food. The Museum of Fine Arts is a great place. So
is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. And Fenway Park. But, as a
potter, the one place you definitely should go is the Pucker.
Have fun.
