raku problems (revised question)

This is my revised question about the problems I have been having with
my raku firings. I have moved to a high altitude and that is possibly
the problem. I have always fired to cone^05-06 and have gotten
wonderful matte results with my copper sand recipe. I have enlarged my
apertures to present more oxygen in my kiln to adjust to the 7300 foot
altitude. That hasn't made much difference. As I said in my previous
posting, my glaze is getting too shiny. And I am not ready to
reformulate all my other glazes so I am able to fire at a lower
temperature. So, I guess my real questions are: Has any others out
there had a high altitude problem when rakuing? And, does anyone have a
good copper matte recipe that fires in my temperature range that is soft
looking and colorful?
