Every potter has a list of WHAT they want to make. HOW to make it is =20
often the question. Learn some of the answers from internationally =20
renowned potter Bill vanGilder, Clay Times Teaching Techniques =20
columnist, and creator/host of Throwing Clay on the DIY Network.

During this three day (one evening and two days), information-loaded, =20=

demo-workshop some 50+ making techniques will be demonstrated in =20
answer to these =93how-to=94 questions; techniques participant
will want to use and adjust to fit their own future work. Shortcuts, =20=

tips and tool-use at the wheel will be shared through demo after demo.

-------------------------

Tom and Elaine Coleman--Throwing, Altering, and Carving--Sept 6 and 7 =20=

at the Kevin Lehman Pottery in Lancaster, PA

Immerse yourself in the work and teachings of Tom and Elaine Coleman, =20=

two of the most respected clay artists in the country, for this two =20

Tom will express his approach and philosophy to clay through a =20
balance of slide shows, demonstrations and lecture. The slide show =20
will provide a connection of Tom=92s past and present work. =20
Demonstrations will cover throwing different forms and altering =20
pieces. Lecture will range from decorating techniques, formulating =20
porcelain clay bodies and slips, marketing your work and taking =20
professional slides and photographs of your work.

Elaine will be providing an ongoing porcelain-carving demonstration =20
during both days in tandem with Tom=92s lectures. Through carving away =20=

and adding upon layers, she gives dimension to her pots, which are =20
then enhanced by the use of celadon glazes. Students are asked to =20
bring their own green-ware on Sunday to participate in breakout hands-=20=

on carving sessions. Bring questions and problems to ask these =20
masters to help you with during the weekend. The workshop will be =20
based around what students which to see demonstrated.

There are also a few slots still available for Ron Roy's and my =20
