making art marks

i have been thrilled with my new read...`color/the history of`.

people have been making art marks for over 40,000 years.
it is a part of our being. it will never stop.

our dna makes us do it. we cannot ever be finished.
those that have that art/craft dna are doomed.
we just have to keep doing it. every day.

who cares what critics or social psychologists have to say.
blather on blather.

we have to keep working. making things.
in many cases, we do not care what we make...just
make stuff. potters are never done building, making, planning,
scheming.

as i said the other day...kids are starving to death..wanting
to make stuff, and do it well....and then their self value
increases..dramatically.

to build, to make, to be a part of things of value will
never change. those with courage will always participate
in building and making.

i noticed that the apprentice was on tv for two hours the
other night. talk about gag reflex. two hours? my god,
i could not watch that as a flip the channel 2 second spot.

the world, the population of many are stuck at the tv.
we are not.
and, yes, we work alone a great deal. our ideas belong to
us. thank god.
it is the greatest gift of art.
we can think for ourselves. and then account for what we do.
craftsmanship...what a concept.
it is not dead, but alive and kicking..and always will be.
it is just that some of us are hoarding it. we will share it when
the others are ready.....
thank god.
