I like Coleman's copper reds and use them often. I find they are
great at ^9........ for me, in my kiln.
I also like the look of Pete's Red at its best, but for awhile I
found it very undependable ....... almost always "red" rather
than mauve or pink or liver-brown like some of the reds I've tried.......
but the
crazing wasn't something I wanted. I started applying the Pete's
Red on pots I planned to fire past ^10 (reduction) and find that
Pete's Red is gorgeous and very dependable at ^11 flat, even at
^12, and
doesn't craze. (I'm speaking of Pete Pinnell; I hope you are, too.
If not, just delete, please.) Again, in my kiln for me.
IF I can order the battery charger for my best camera, and can get
it working again, I'll see if I can shoot some of the Pete's Red pots.
THEN IF I can figure out where and how to place those pics on
a website, I'll display them so you may see for yourself, Jonathan,
if you'd like.

In the Mojave desert of California U.S.A. thinking she must stop
this business of having my good, good friend, Maria, shoot my
pots.......... then send them from her computer to my computer...... so
that I can then forward the pictures to whomever. (It's a good thing
I don't plan to be employed by anybody else ever again.......... since the
word is now out .. thanks to me...... what a klutz I am. My former
employers would be pretty surprised, I'm thinking........... but again.....
maybe not............ )
