I currently own a 24 cubic foot updraft Alpine Kiln, located in
Brooklyn NY in the Park Slope Area.
The kiln is an HF-24, Serial Number 249, an old kiln body in great
internal condition outfitted with the latest and greatest burner and
brain.
The kiln is outfitted with new burner bars and the most recent Alpine
controller.
Joe Catenzaro, a personal friend, who currently now owns Alpine Kilns,
is using the kiln to prototype a new controller which may even be
superior to the Alpine controller.
I have to move the kiln to New Haven CT but I am exploring selling it
here in NYC since the move to CT is not cheap.
The kiln is located out of doors, accessible to a rigger's forklift. I
have bids for the move to New Haven from two riggers.
I'm asking $7,500 for the unit. The price is not too flexible simply
because I must replace it with a kiln I'll have to build myself in New
Haven.
The buyer must be willing to allow Joe Catenzaro of Alpine to attempt
the outfitting with a kiln controller of novel design. Joe's attention
to the unit brings with it an added bonus!
This is an ideal piece of equipment for a school or community ceramics
center which cannot afford to purchase a new gas kiln.
I'm happy to furnish photos of the inside and outside of the kiln to
interested buyers. Please contact me at mark@visionage.net or may call
me directly on my telephone at 646 283-1640.
