Thanks Jim and John,

I had specific specific types of in mind: the Savage Model 24

http://www.isoldmygun.com/listings/details/index.cfm?itemnum=3D888518101

and something like the Mossberg Sluggster

and I recall a wilderness backpack model with the ability to switch
barrels (wasn't too expensive.) I believe it was domestic, with a
nylon stock. I recall one like this having rim fire, shotgun and
.357 barrels available. (I am using Burger King's Wi-fi from the
car, so google is a bit sketchy to search.)

Muzzle loader and bow has appeal too. I believe around here,
is like the lower half of lower Michigan when I lived there:
centerfire rifles are not allowed for deer. Only bow, shotgun and
muzzle loader.

Lee - head to Cabela's in Owatanna or Rogers to check out their used firear=
ms. I got a nice old 12 ga. side-by-side there a few years ago.

BTW, stopped by the clay center this evening for my green tea - where the h=
eck were you?! At least Miss Kitty was glad to see me. Did manage to swit=
ch out treadle wheels in the common area so that I can get back to work. H=
ad an odd month with little clay time, but will be back at it starting this=
weekend.
