Hi everyone =96 I have an opportunity to purchase a used Axner Rolling
Thunder 30=94 slab roller for $450. another option I saw is a Glide Slab
Roller of acrylic for $72.00 offered by Tools 4 Clay.
My studio is in my garage and space is limited. Does anyone on this list
have experience with either of these slab rollers and if so, will you
share it with me?
Thanks so much.

I have the Axner Rolling Thunder 30" slab roller although I paid a bit more
than $450 for it [about $650 new a while back]
I've been using it for about 18 months and several potters in my area come
by to use it from time to time also. It is excellent, sturdy and will last a
lifetime.
And the orange color will make you smile.
I can't recommend it high enough, and the price is right-new or used
compared to equivalent slab rollers.

Hello Karen,=0A =0AIf you can afford to have the non-table top Axner Rollin=
g Thunder Slab Roller I would go for it. My 15 year old son and I have the =
Rolling Thunder with the table for the last 5 years and we love it! It is a=
true work horse. We have both put through slabs starting at 3" thick and =
slabbed them down to 1/2" with great ease. I would recommend getting an ext=

Has anyone had experience with the Frema slab roller? My supplier offers
both the Frema and the North Star, which is $170 more and 6" narrower,
so the Frema looks like the better deal on paper.
Thanks

I own a Frema and LOVE it! The extra size is great the rollers and surface
area on each side allow you to roll the slab though both directions which I
find beneficial for no hesitation marks and uniformity. I've tried a couple
North Stars - possibly older models - but they did not allow this.
I bought mine in the fall 2003, use it on a daily basis, and have never had
a minutes trouble with it. My adult students (12 of them) all have found it
easy to use.
I'd buy Frema again.
