I got real close to David Hendley's stomping grounds today.
Rick and I experienced the old steam train ride from Palestine
and went through Maydelle where David is, but the train
didn't stop there. Our destination was the next town over
in Rusk for lunch at the other train depot before coming
back.
It was a wonderfully relaxing ride on that old train.
A great way to de-stress.
It's really pretty up in East Texas with lots of tall pine
trees and firewood on the ground from those felled and
decayed.
Too bad we missed Big Bertha's lunches and David's pots.
Sure wished we could've stopped. Another time.
