first off lets agree to disagree on the concrete block issue, yes cinder =
blocks are different t
thanks for pointing that out to newbies. block ontheir side have worked =
for decades and
I am sure blocks layed upright with cement board work also. i do know =
that i have built kilns
with two layers of ifb and one of hardbrick and put my hand into the =
cells as far as i could and
it was very moist and about 150 degrees, thats close enough to the =
boiling point of water for
me to play it safe, now linda i do work with woodstoves and i know of =
rutland cement,. i actualy
wondered the same thing as its most likely some combinations of =
fireclay, hi temp cement=20
soium silicate and whatever else. if you need to patch something =
castable or some actual
refractory patch would be better. cements for woodstoves are rated to hi =
temperatures but not
for extended periods. those hi temps are only for flue fires! woodstoves =
do not operate at 2400
degrees continously. let us know what your specific application is and =
we all will chime in with
options.
