There were so many e-mails awaiting about the hotel (Hyatt)
in Phoenix...... at least the subject heading suggested that they
were........ that I was sure I had misunderstood completely and
now I'd have to get it all corrected. That idea bothered me a lot,
figuring that I'd led everyone astray and that you'd all come and
tear out my new rosebushes and sprinkler system..... it only took
about 20 years for me to get them done correctly!

But........ no..... only a few had questions about the hotels. Most
posts were about "how did the lunch go with Mojo and the maltese
pups?" SO: the owner of the pups called to say that the winds
were way too bad in town to even consider sitting outside so Mojo
and I were invited to her home for lunch. Under these circumstances,
we ALL were wonderfully well behaved. In addition to Lucky and
LouAnn (the pups who are maybe 3 or 4 months old) Sammie, a sweet
doxie, came in to join us after one of her many naps of the day.... she's
getting pretty old but she doesn't like to talk about that.

AND
the two very talky African Grey parrots watched us through the glass
which separated the sun room from the area where we ate lunch. Turned
out that the parrots KNEW we were having a chicken/rice Greek soup
(delicious!) which they love and homemade bread (ditto!) and were
anxious to get their usual share. Maria (our hostess and my brave
friend) served them and apologized profusely (to the parrots) for
forgetting about their Special Treat.

Mojo and I left when the pups flaked out in the midst of playing some
sort of Smelling Game for the thousandth time, and went fast asleep.
Looked as if Being
Adorable wears one out in a short time. Mojo waited until we returned
home, but she is now conked out and responding to nothing. Well, it's
midnight; I guess she's entitled.

In the Mojave desert of California U.S.A. thinking that Maria ought to be
a potter (Is "ought to be" less neurotic than "should be"? I'm voting that
it is.). She loves the internet, has a fantastic blog, is a fine photographer,
and enjoys all kinds
of "stuff." She even found her gracious, handsome and gentlemanly
husband on the net......
. or they found
each other........ and they've been delightfully married for some time now.
She's not as old as I, but close.

#1 Support Person used to ask me......
"Don't you know any ordinary people?" I would always think about it,
and have to answer "Nope..... I think that's a contradiction in terms."
Once you get to know them, and they become yours, nobody is
ordinary........... don't you think?

Hi Everyone,

Joyce, after reading your email and Barbara Brown's email (via Inge Balch)
about hotels in Phoenix near the convention center, I telephoned the Hyatt
and made my room reservation for NCECA. It was easy to make the reservation,
and comforting to look at the walking map to see that the Hyatt is really
right across the street from part of the convention center.

I'm not sure I'll be able to attend, because it is so close to April 15th,
which is my busy time, since I earn my living as a CPA preparing income tax
returns, but I'll decide closer to January.

So thank you for posting your emails!

Bonnie
