e-mail glaze course

While I think both of Tony's books are excellent - and I recommend them
when I teach glaze calculation - I think a step by step, simplified
introduction to glaze calculation is well needed. There are many out there
- who have calculation software - still unable to fix and make their own
glazes.

I had to learn from scratch - the manuals I had were good but often the
terms were unfamiliar and the assumptions of the author were way over my
head. The encouraging part was that I could do it - I am not a fast learner
and it was a struggle. As I explain to my students - If I can do this
anyone can - given the time and the right kind of nurturing. Having some
passion for the subject - or at least for it's need - is a definite plus.

I checked out this web site and it is GREAT. All the info that you need
to start understanding glaze is here. Approach it with an open mind when
you start trying to understand things on the atomic level. Between this
site and/or book and Robin Hoppers 'Glaze Spectrum', you should be able
to figure out on your own how to adjust or design your own glazes. Take
the time to do some research on your own instead of always asking others
to do it for you!

Things are only a mystery when we don't understand them. Learning and
knowledge are ways to take the mystery out of end results. Trust me,
firing will always remain sacred and mysterious even if you understand
what is happening. Why stumble through life when. . .

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE, GO GET IT!

PS. I do not own 'INSIGHT' or 'Magic of Fire'. This is not a paid
advertisement from Big Baby Head Studio. And Thank you Mr. Hansen
for giving so much FREE info on your website!
