It is not even necessary to make the masonite
bats circular. I made three sizes of square bats
& use them for throwing smaller items ... 3 1/2
pounds & less.
The small bats are about 5 inches (12.5 cm)
square and I use them for throwing cups &
mugs. Being square, they fit close together
on a ware board & save a lot of room. I don't
cut the mugs off the bats with a wire. I attach
the handles while they are still stuck to the bat.
Then when the mugs do dry enough, they pop
right off, leaving the bottom very smooth.
