Received this little gem from a friend on-line, does anyone know of these
pots/mugs or where I can see photos of same?

needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service.
"Wet your whistle", is the phrase.>>

Wondering if the whistle was a clay one, most likely. I have seen pics of
puzzle mugs, but don't remember anything about "whistle" mugs. Sounds like an
interesting novelty item.

Thanks,

Lynne,

I bought one last year at the Colorado Renaissance festival -- it's a
small mug (glaze is a semi-matte medium blue with green rim) with
an unglazed bird perched on the top of the handle that serves as
the whistle. The bird is very small (about 1" tall) and not very
detailed -- it's a real conversation piece, very whimsical yet simple.
You blow into the bird's mouth. They were selling like crazy.

How much were the mugs selling for?
Sandy

Sandy-

They were $10. Small..... about 8-10oz size. I keep thinking
now what a great gift for small kids (though the picture of birdie
whistles creating waves of milk bubbles makes me cringe). However,
I remember my son receiving WONDERFUL gifts from my siblings
when he was the only young'un in the family -- great stuff like
pellet guns and water cannons and slimy stuff. Paybacks *can* be
interesting.... hmmm, time to plan those holiday surprises.

Interesting sidenote: The artist didn't show this year... many folks
were looking for the mugs...
