Folks,

I wanted to pass along that even in these tough times, great things are
happening in the Ceramic Arts.

The Workhouse Arts Center Ceramics Program will be opening this Fall of
2008. It will be part of a 55 acre campus for the Fine and Performing Arts
on what use to be a portion of the D.C. Correctional Facility, a $100+
million build-out dedicated to promoting and providing life long educational
opportunities in the Arts. If you are interested in checking it out go to
www.lortonarts.org

The new Ceramics Program in a dedicated fully equipped studio facility with
2- indoor kiln rooms, outdoor kiln yard (4 gas kilns planned), retail
gallery, raw materials lab, spray booth, clay mixing and recycling
equipment, etc. will be comprised of a Ceramic Resident artist program for 5
ceramic artists with 220 sq. ft. individual studio spaces and an Educational
program offering classes, seven days a week. If you have any questions or
need/want more info, feel free to email me at dalemarhanka@lortonarts.org

Dear Dale,
They almost threw me out of the library for drooling all over their computer keyboard as I read your description of that awesome new clay facility. Thank you for the positive post. --Kim H.
