I have found--and I do a lot of slip glazes--that RedArt slightly "enhanced"
works fine as an Albany or Barnard substitute.
I have NOT tried to start from scratch--i.e. satisfying the formula in its
entirety with individual ingredients.
I say this because it is something I probably should look into, it being my
impression that slip glazes cannot really be replicated that way.
Slip--high clay glazes-- have characteristics such as resistance to dunting
crawling crazing most glazes don't.
Has anyone looked around in that area?
And, by the way. I wet mix my substitutes, dry them, then weigh them out
into the glaze proper.
