The two Besnehan apprentices, Andy and Ben, have Minnesota made
kerokuro in the community studio across the hall from my studio. The
are mounted om portable platforms. I will photograph them today.

Andy is always oiling his. Ben is going back home to take a
tech position at his hometown U. Andy went out East to learn from
Breshnehan, how to make his style of cane handles. He is making
Richard's now. They both applied for the State Arts Board grant.
Hope they get it! They deserve it.

this should read: "to learn from Breshnehan's handled maker, how to
make his style of cane handles."

Ben spent a year in Japan on the JET program in Karatsu. He
spent time every week at the Nakazato's, studying clay.
