Hey Tony,
It's no surprise to me how good your student's work is. You are an
inspiring teacher and they are lucky to have you. It's good to see
you working at such a high energy place and benefiting so much from
the experience.
You even inspired my 13 year old son to blog. I wanted him to write
more this summer so I suggested that he start a blog. We used to read
your China blog together so he had a pretty good idea of what a blog
was like. He now writes everyday. He says he has to post everyday to
give his visitors something new to read every time they visit. He's a
kid, so his blog is about video games http://calvintalksgames.blogspot.com
He taught himself how to add pics and video content from youtube.
I'm just happy that he develops his own ideas and headlines and then
writes about them.
I had a friend who used to say that "teaching is a cult of
personality". I never knew what he was talking about until I was
teaching for a few years. It's not really the content that makes
someone want to learn about it, it's how the teacher sells it. A good
teacher has this cult of personality about them. They make their
students want to achieve more. It's clear from your blog that you
have this. Thanks for sharing it with us.

John: I love the pic of your kid in the tank. Now, how the heck did he
do that. Yeah, the crew I'm teaching right now are busting their butts
for me. My work is my best teaching tool. I'm always there and always
working so the students do the same. We're on different time clocks
though. they work waaaaaaaaaaaay into the night. I need my sleep.
Dr. Ralph Stuckman contacted me about my blog for publication in The
Potter's Shed. i hope he contacted you too since I'm forever having
students doing cone 6 look you up.
Thanx and all the best.
