Hi Everyone:
well, programmers are out there - my husband is one. He used to write
software (and design hardware) for Hazmat and firefighters and other
first line defense and stuff for military applications ( He now does it
for law enforcement).
The thing is, as he said to me when I told him about the massage about
kiln controllers - to write individual software would be prohibitively
expensive. It's not hard, but time consuming because of the testing
involved. This is why your commercial kiln costs so much, research,
writing, testing, debugging, fine tuning, and again, and again and. . .
Now, we all know potters are sensibly frugal, so we are all probably
better off waiting for the kiln manufacturers to do it on a larger
scale for a bigger audience.
Now if there is anyone out there with more money than sense and still
want to go ahead, you can contact me - he'd be happy to do it for you!
Kathy
