Hey Don,
Thanks for the link. I came across one of those listed sites awhile
back after catching something Lee had posted. I thought, wow that's a
cool idea with the small charcoal kiln and forced air.
I'm wondering what types of charcoal are good to use. I'm guessing
hardwood. I wonder if I could get my hands on some mesquite charcoal
around here? I know just the shape my minigama is going to take too!
Now for the hair dryer... Hey Louis Katz! I think you need to teach
this idea to your classes this year and be sure to invite me to come
for firing day.
The book translation seems to be a necessity. Anybody on list reviewed
a copy yet?

Hi Talyor - I ordered the translated copy several years ago form Naoko Gomi
(copyright 2003) when she advertized it here on Clayart . It was about $15.
Wonderful clear detailed drawings. I never got around to building one as I
was in the process of building a wood fired train kiln . Her address at that
time was Box 311, Princeton MA 01541 and her email was naokojee@yahoo.com
Well worth getting -

Taylor, Here in Japan, the charcoal is made from pine. But I
think the key point is not to use briquettes. I have bought "real"
mesquite charcoal in the past. They look like blackened pieces of
wood and not briquettes. I am guessing it would work pretty good.
