Chuck,
I appreciate your offer but if it is in the archives then I can find it
anytime and don't have to head home or ask anyone. And the cat is alread=

out of the bag so what difference does it make?
By the way I know of a book that has about 400 recipes and instructions o=
n
how to fire. And it costs about $12.62 on Amazon. Now there is a deal.
And you can post any of them you want on clayart.
MC6 GLOSSY CLEAR LINER cone 6
20.1 Feldspar
19.1 Ferro 3134
15. Wollastonite
20. Clay
6.01 Talc
19.01 Silica
I am pretty sure this was the recipe (from memory) but if I am incorrect
let me know. I would hate to post the incorrect recipe.

I just don't get it. The WHY you are such a fanatic on this. I AM getting tired of the repetition.
I don't have to agree with someone to respect them and their wishes.
Making a book and marketing it is like making a pot. Some people depend on the income from what they make more than others.
I remember when I was in a small town college, trying to compete in the local market, with a talented high school kid who didn't care who he undercut, his parents provided the gas kiln, paid the gas bill, bought him glaze materials and clay. He factored NONE of that into what he charged for his pots. Single living at home.
My situation was different, I bought my own kiln materials and built it, paid for my own gas to fire, paid for my own rent, and had to feed a wife and three children.
THAT"s what bugs me about this, you seem to judge on ONE level, not factoring all of the other stated reasons why they chose to do it the way that they do.
I appreciate the fact that over the years MOST people have honored their wishes. In most instances I agree with your position. The difference is, I can do that and still honor their wishes with respect. I will always honor the conditions of the person who choses to share a glaze with me. I can do that without being all secretive about everything else.
Get over it , John. You are starting to be a fanatical pain.

Sorry this took so long but I had a hard time finding my copy of Mastering
Cone 6 Glazes. I have loaned it out at times over the years to schools and
it seems to have a knack for hiding. The glaze on page 97 named Glossy Clear
Liner Glaze is as follows.
G-200 Feldspar 20.0
Ferro Frit 3134 20.0
Wollastonite 15.0
EPK 20.0
Talc 6.0
Silica 19.0
----------------------------
Total 100
So as you can see your memory wasn't too sharp.
If you had your copy of Revealing Glazes you could have turned to page 139
and found the very same glaze (submitted by John Hesselberth) only it's
named Midfire Shiny Liner Glaze and the exact same ingredients and
quantities only listed in a different order. In the Currie book are some
excellent notes on using colorants with this glaze that I didn't see in the
MC6G book. Anyone who doesn't have both of Ian Currie's books along with the
excellent "Out of The Earth and Into The Fire" are missing important
resources they should have in their library.
Hope this helps.
