Why would Zinc oxide be used in a glaze that is to be heavily reduced
up to Cone 10.
Zinc oxide will reduce to the free metal. This will volatilise and
discharge as hazardous fumes. I suspect much of it will have left the
glaze before the Felspar begins fusing.
Metal Fume Fever is not a pleasant experience.
