During a week's workshop at Michael McDowells farm in Washington
state, Vince had us make bisque molds which we used for hand
building slab and extruded clay for bowls and vases. In some cases,
mine for example, we used them to start our kiln gods.

They really worked wonderfully well. I think Vince called them "pukas".......
is that right, Vince?

Since then I've had those I mentor in handbuilding make these same
thick bowl forms ........ very handy.

In the Mojave desert of California U.S.A. where the young roadrunner spent most
of the afternoon going around the house looking in the windows and
pecking at us...... OR at the handsome bird he saw reflected ......... Mojo
climbed on the back of the couch, staying there for at least an hour, waiting
for him to come by the tv room
once again...... good thing she isn't bigger... she'd have sure been through
that window after him what with being noseTOnose as they were..........
all the growling and pecking and snorting and clucking
and preening that was going on interfered with my Ice Road Truckers tivoed
show........ I finally gave up and just watched my two clowns taking
themselves very seriously.........
