Lela: Thanx for posting this. I have decided that in spite of a
tremendously hectic fall if there is an election called I will be
active. This guy needs to given the boot. The arts council travel
grants are small legs up to artists. I have been the recipient 3
times- once for Japan, once for England and once to be a panelist at
the wood fire conference in Flagstaff. My airfare was paid and I
shouldered all the rest of the costs. My presence on the international
stage I think was a good investment for our gov't.
For all the flack Mr. Bush takes at least he attended the Olympics.
Ours was somewhere standing around a steam table eating scrambled
eggs.
Call me small minded but my only question of our political leaders is
"What is your position on the arts???
Say hello to mountain man.
Cheers,
Tony

Tony,

Our federal funding to artists was slashed years ago. You are just
following our short sighted lead.
