opinions on thomas stewart kickwheel?

I'm planning on purchasing a kickwheel, and was wondering if
anyone had opinions on the Thomas Stewart kickwheel. The only
kickwheel I've used was a Brent. I liked the Brent, but there's
a huge difference in the price of these two wheels. Is the
Thomas Stewart wheel a good wheel, even though it's about
1/3 the price of the Brent? Unfortunatly, I won't have the
opportunity to try before buying.

I have a Thomas Stuart kick wheel to which I added the motorized kit several
years after I got it. It is a good solid wheel.
One observation-
the splash pan is small and situated so that large bats must be used without
the pan. I throw dry so this doesn't bother me.
The motor/kit is easy to add if you get a little extra money sometime.
I personally like motorized fly whgeel type wheels because I like
the control of using my foot on occasion.

I have assembled but not thrown on a Stewart Wheel. We sold them next to
Lockerbie wheels. I really prefered to sell the Lockerbies because they
were solid. Our Stewart wheel was acceptably stable but not as stable as
the welded together wheels. If you can, go where you can view them both or
even throw on them. Universities with large ceramics labs are sometimes
good places for this. I would vote Brent if you plan to throw everyweek. I
prefer the Randall (better sizing for me, and I like the action on the
motor mount, but a very steep price) . We have Lockerbies here.

When buying wheels I've learned that "you get what you pay for". A good
wheel, kick or electric, can last a lifetime. I'd go for the higher priced
wheel. Have you check out the Randall?

I have a Thomas stewart in the shop and i really like it the students seem
to use it with no prpblems and the price was great. I have it next to a
brent kickwheel and the only problem is the seat lacks in adjustability.
