The design work I have been doing is in the PRESS
Pliable, Reusable, Embossing, Stamp, System.
=A0
It is a means to produce highly detailes bas relief work with=20
repeatability in 3-d surfaces.=A0 It is not plaster and offers a lot
of options in the work.
=A0
I posted flat and relief versions of the same images on the flikr site abov=
e
to show what you can do with it.
=A0
This is a design thing that can make work that you are beginning to hate
becasue you can't stop making it, economically, but you just don't want to =
do it
anymore.=A0 I get that.=A0 This is an alternative to rubber stamps that is =
better because
the rubber stamps are too stiff, can't srap around things, and are really e=
xpensive.
=A0
And it makes nice pots with less work per pot.=A0 The work is in making the=
PRESS and
coming up with images that you need/want to be able to produce cost effecti=
vely.
=A0
RIght now I am focused on my brushpainting workshops,=20
but coming in the pipeline is this process workshop for people that=20
are ready to do production on an image=A0they already work with.
=A0
The thing that I think is so exciting about it is that it is true 3-D repet=
ition
of an image, rather than processes that I went to workshops to learn, that =
were
really only about image transfer.=A0 And it removes plaster from the equati=
on in=20
the=A0studio, which is too stiff for a lot of applications that the PRESS w=
orks great for,=20
and is just something I would like to keep far away from my clay.
=A0
Anyway, this is something I am excited about and here are some pictures of =
it.
