Hi All,
Need some suggestions. My wife and I will be in Sante Fe and
Albuquerque NM the last of September and would like to know of any
gallery's that specialize in a variety of art work especially
ceramics/clay. Would like to visit a few as time permits with the idea
of consigning or selling to them should we be a good fit. We are
primarily functional potters, but do some decorative work along with
some raku. Any suggestions would certainly be welcome. Currently we
are in a number of gallery's along the Oregon Coast and in the Portland
area and are looking to add more gallery's and cut down on shows. The
older you get the more work and time shows require, plus I am not
convinced there is much difference in net profit between shows and
gallery's, especially considering that the cost of entry fee's seem to
be going up, up, up. Anyone else notice that???
Thanks,
Dick Walker

I spent some time looking for pottery friendly galleries recently and here are some I found. I remember looking several years ago and out of
over 500 galleries found less than 10 that dealt with contemporary pottery but it seems to be represented much more these days.

Hi Dick=2C
One thing about Santa Fe is there just isn't a lot of clay galleries. Santa=
Fe Clay is the only one that is just clay. A fairly new gallery on Canyon =
road called New Concepts Gallery carries clay. Also check out Mariposa in A=
lbuquerque

I picked up a Brochure at the mall in Santa Fe for the "New Mexico potters
trail". 14 potters north and south of SF. There is a web address:
www.newmexicopotterstrail.org which is under construction. They say they
will send a flyer. If you email them. There are a couple in SF, about 5
north on the way to Taos.
The work pictured looks pretty good.
Right now I am working within 60 mile of all these people and have not gone
yet. Shame.
Joe
