Some inexpensive housing is available for those coming from a long =20
distance.
This intensive, fast-paced three-day hands-on and demo workshop will =20
cover the diverse technical and aesthetic approaches whichNotkin uses =20=
to create his unique works in clay. Throughout the workshop, Notkin =20
will discuss various aesthetic considerations, including: format and =20
compositional devices, alteration and metamorphosis of form and =20
imagery, choice of scale and creating a narrative Richardwill teach =20
small scale exploration, altering and layering clays, unorthodox =20
surface techniques, tile production techniques with one-piece press =20
molds and large scale carving techniques.
By encouraging participants to think beyond the traditional parameters =20=
of the standard pottery studio, this workshop is designed to expand =20
the aesthetic and technical horizons for beginning through advanced =20
students, as well as the professional ceramist.
