Hi Lela, all...

For the majority of schools, colleges and universities, the sheepish looking
'puck' which the "Quick Center" ( 'TM') produces, IS the finished 'Pot'
already, and only needs to be rotated a few moments for appearance sake,
then removed from the Wheel to be set onto the Ware Shelves...and, just as
it is, it will get Bisqued, then Glazed and Fired.

Of course each pupil will be reminded to scratch their name into the Bottom,
or, the top, since both are the same anyway, so as to lessen dangers of
confusion or contention later, when the pieces are all 'finished' and ready
to be taken home as presents for loved ones.

Possibly some of us missed the true genius and appeal of this to teachers
and pupils and so on?

It really will make things easier...loading the Kiln will be easier with
having a few hundred of these 'pucks' to a firing, all being uniform height
and width...

All in all, very efficient...tidy, egalitarian, and no pupil will feel bad
that anyone else managed a form which causes his own to seem lackluster or
naive or gawky which could effect the grading 'curve' and morale of all
concerned.,.even if some Glazes are bound to turn out better than others, of
course.

This is the correct embrace of true liberal thinking and practice, in which
of course, schools, colleges and universities wish to excel, above all else.

Love,

Well, sure. There is that way of looking at it,
but from what we have seen, It Doesn`t Work!
I don`t think a person who can`t centre will be able
to open and keep centred or draw the walls up and
keep centered.
I imagine a beginner who has no luck
with this thing say to self, `I SHOULD be able to make a
round piece since this has already done the first part, but
can`t.. I give up. A beginner who can centre has got the
concept of the physics..the opening and drawing up
come easily after that.
I see it a a gadget that would be used
twice and given up on, tossed in the corner where it
will sit for years because it was too expensive to
just chuck out.
