If you get too large an extruder, it is hard to make smaller
extrusions as it takes too much effort to push the large mass of clay
through the small opening.
John Glick who does lots of extruding has many extruders in his
studio. He pointed out at a workshop that one size will not do
everything. If you want to make large extrusions and small extrusions
it is better to have 2 extruders.
It's too much work and effort to load a nine inch barrel to make coil
or handle parts and takes more force to extrude them too.
