I'd just like to add my concurrence to Linda Blossom here. We have lots of
different relationships to our work here on this list and one person's
approach is not necessarily more virtuous than another's....having said
that, the deal is for me that alot of work and care and involvement goes
into my stuff. Am I just going to say well that's not worth anything if
there's a crack? Not hardly. Am I demeaning my work? Au contraire.
There is value in knowing when to save and when to jettison, in this as in
elsewhere each must find her/his own way...the importance of such
discussions to me is to check myself as to whether I am still on target for
myself as that changes too, not where I fall on another's scale of savers
or throw-away-ers. My personal feeling is that if the pots are not fodder
for the commercial machine that does not make them worthless, because the
commercial market does not give them their worth.
