Hi Randy
I tested your version, Tim's and my own in my last kiln which is still
cooling.
A couple of things, I think about. The aesthetic effects of layering
glazing is usually
the movement and many color nuances. I think by making one glaze you could
very well get the movement and colors, breaking and not, but I think you
will
in any case, miss some of the subtle areas that make layering so beautiful.
That is where the
areas where the different glazes on the pot are by themselves, and contrast
the overlapping.

Also, I am wondering about Tim's version, completely omitting the Redart
and no additional RIO. I think that will influence both color and movement.

Well, that is what the fired results will show!

I think my version I omitted the Lithium and Whiting, so you are two
materials lighter.

Looking forward to showing you the results.
Best regards in Denmark.

Alisa

Let me know how it turns out. I will be glaze firing another kiln load
probably Monday. With the oxides I used I got a great semi transparent
gray/brown matt glaze with some iron oranges spots when I layered the glazes
on a test tube. I got somewhat different results when I poured the glazes
rather than quick dipped. The blue came from Wayne's Blue that seemed to
just flow down the outside glaze, but none of the glazes ran.

Will mix all three in one glaze with the next firing.

Here is a picture.
