Des & Jan, Boy would I love to make a Jun glaze like that! Nice of him to give the recipe. Only trouble is he fires to cone 14. I don't think I want to work that hot. The new G-200 will definitely help though.

I wouldn't fuss too much about the Cone 14 idea.
Our results just for comparison.
All given recipes were converted to formula & brought
back to recipes using our local materials.
Fry Jun
Orton cone 10-
Real' Potash Feldspar 45
Quartz 25
Whiting 17
China clay 9
Dolomite 2
Wood ash 10
+ red iron oxide 1

Tichane Jun
Orton cone 11+
potash feldspar 48
silica 31
limestone 20
bone ash 1
+ magnetite 1

Lue Jun - blend of Fry & Tichane
Orton cone 10+ to 11-

Rows 6 & 7, under June, show the current iteration of our Jun.
The cup has vapour deposited copper. The plates have
local ochre under, paper stencils, glass microbead blasted.

Des and Jean,
I love the decoration you did to your porcelain bowls. May I ask what did
you use to get this effect?
I see a consistent pattern, so I assume it is done while trimming.

Elliott
I guess you mean the chattering.
Have a look at :

The bent wire & steel strapping tools are run up
the sides of the pots while they are spinning on
the turning wheel. The bouncing of the tools chip away
at the surface in a rhythmic pattern
