Just a wee post to announce the opening of a new pottery and crafts
gallery in LADYSMITH, BRITISH COLUMBIA.
LOIS ROMANOW, who moved to Vancouver Island, from Ottawa, Ontario just
last year, and who has been running CLAYVISIONS, porcelain and
stoneware, from her home studio, has taken a graceful leap into the
world of merchantry. She has just opened
The GALLERY OF FUNCTIONAL ART
at 341 C First Ave.
This colourful space is filled with a variety of ceramics, including
Lois' own, and even Tozan-fired work from our Tozan society's Noborigama
and Anagama kilns. A miscellany of work from artists in other media
rounds out the selection, including weaving, toys, jewellery, silk
scarves, and more.
Ladysmith is just south of Nanaimo, and worth a trip to check out art,
crafts and antiques, and the quaint, "old" (for these parts) buildings.
You can reach Lois at (250) 245-0243.
