I want to tell you about a great event : the 30th annual Yuma Art Symposium, next February 26-28 in Yuma, Arizona.
This might dovetail in nicely with NCECA events for some of you. Yuma is an easy drive from San Diego, L.A. Phoenix,
Las Vegas, Tucson and othe parts of the southwest.
The Yuma Art Symposium features demos, lectures and exhibits by artists working in fiber, clay, metal, sculpture,
printmaking, painting, photography and CLAY!
I will be one of the featured presenters in clay along with Jim Romberg and Mardis Nenno.
There will also be special 30th anniversary events , a fiesta and dance, a pin auction and some other fun ,
exciting and informative events. I gather the event takes over downtown Yuma. Yuma has very affordable accommodations and February is a Great time of year to go there.
For more information on the Yuma Art Symposium and a complete list of events and presenters,
go to the website at
http://www.yumaartsymposium.memberlodge.org/Default.aspx?pageId=102907 The Symposium is sponsored by the Friends of Yuma Symposium, The City of Yuma and the
Tomkins Pottery with a grant from the City of Yuma Arts and Cultural Commission and
additional funding from Arizona Western College
hope to see you there
