The way these guys handle clay on the wheel impressed me.
A master from Japan. Amazingly casual, quick and elegant teapot, lid, spout. Perfect fit. He doesn't stop the wheel to take the pieces off.

a look around a Spanish(?) pottery and a guy throwing a 4 ft tall vase in a couple of minutes. The video is double speed but even at normal speed it's pretty quick. He's got 4 throwing gauges for this form.

I haven't seen the flat disk pulled up into a cylinder technique that a couple of these potter's use, it's a fast way to make a big cylinder. Anybody use this technique?
Any thoughts on what kind of clay bodies are being used?
