Randy McCall wants to know if someone has a cone 6 shiny brown
glaze similar to an Albany slip one but at c, 6.

Ok. In the Sankey Glaze Databank there are at least three of my
twice fired glazes--all of which are based on Albany Slip glazes
all now made with Red Art. To all NOT in the US I imagine any
red clay--such as Fremington --would work after obvious
adjustments.

If you want to be simple you just use Red Art as you would have
used Albany--and play around with the glaze.

If you want to start with a pre-mixed Albany substitute:
Recipe Name: Albany sub I, ( calculated by GlazeMaster™)

Amount Ingredient
11.7 Dolomite
84.7 Red Art
3.6 Whiting

100 Total

Unity Oxide
.006 Na2O
.156 K2O
.395 MgO
.443 CaO
1.000 Total

.581 Al2O3
.16 Fe2O3

3.856 SiO2
.048 TiO2

You also will find my glazes in the Pottery Making Illustrated
files, as "Twice-Fired Glazes."

Also: Robert Bush had some fabulous glazes in CM--based on
Albany, all c.6
