galloping glazes

hi all.
i am using a saturation metallic glaze AMACO=2C one of my favorites=2C BUT =
it is starting to peel off when applied to bisque ware. so=2C you put on on=
e coat doesn't look too bad=2C the second coat is alligatoring the first an=
d then shivering off kind of. the same piece of bisque ware is holding a te=
mmuko and green glaze just fine.=20
I had thought when it happened before that the piece was perhaps dusty...no=
. could it be that the glaze is old and needs a binder reintroduced? i am n=
ew to pottery (5 years) and all i have learned has been from reading books =
and this listserve...needless to say my grasp of the chemistry of glaze is =
minimal=2C hence the commercially prepared glaze. any help would be apprc'd=

How long are you allowing the glaze to dry between coats?
You should apply the 2nd coat when the first is dry to the touch.
If you wait and the first coat has dried too long, this peeling issue can
happen.
Adding some gum binder to the glaze will also help.
