Hi All-

I'm looking for some information about how to concoct a Gerstley Borate
wash. I've been reading about Hunt Prothro's work and I just love his
results. How does one go about getting that nice thin clear coating over
stains and underglazes? I have a clear glaze, but this seems so much
thinner and less glossy. Would this work at cone 6 temps? Any advice is
appreciated!

I did this on some pieces a long time ago and it worked fine. My recollect=
ion
is that it is what it says, GB mixed as a wash and used very thin as a clea=
r
glaze. I don't remember any particulars. But this was at ^06, NOT ^6.
Big difference!

Just ran it through Insight to see and the specs are way closer to ^06 than
to ^6.
