In honor of the 40th anniversary of Brent=3DAE,=3D20
eco-friendly materials (called bio-composites)=3D20
are being used in the new Green Series of Brent=3DAE=3D20
products. The first products in that line include=3D20
the NEW Brent=3DAE ie and ie x wheels, and NEW=3D20
BioBat=3D99. Tabletops for Brent ie and ie-x wheels=3D20
are made of 100% recycled materials just like the NEW 12=3DE2=3D80=3DB3 and=
14=3DE2=3D
=3D80=3DB3 BioBat=3D99.
=3D93For economic and environmental reasons, it is=3D20
critical that we recognize the importance of=3D20
conservation, be it fuel, electricity, labor,=3D20
materials, or any of our natural resources.=3D94 Joe=3D20

=3D93It=3D92s our responsibility to keep an open mind=3D20
when looking into materials and processes to=3D20
improve our products and equipment. We make=3D20
significant efforts to conserve resources while=3D20
maintaining the durability synonymous with the=3D20
AMACO and Brent names. With that in mind, we are=3D20
using a fairly advanced form of bio-composite as=3D20
the foundation of our new Bio-Bat=3D99 as well as the=3D20
tabletop for our newly redesigned Brent=3DAE ie and ie-x wheels.
Bio-composites are compounds made from a blend of=3D20
organic fiber and thermoplastic, both 100%=3D20
recycled in this application. The organic fiber=3D20
(bio-fiber) is a reclaimed by-product of the=3D20
forestry and agricultural industries, typically=3D20
in the form of waste wood or rice-hulls. Because=3D20
these by-products can be utilized and combined=3D20
with recycled plastics, no new resources are=3D20
consumed in the production of the bio-composites.
The bio-composite material we use is also listed=3D20
as a USDA Bio-Preferred material, because it is=3D20
composed significantly of biological or renewable=3D20
agricultural material and has comparable or=3D20
superior performance to petroleum-based=3D20
counterparts. As an example, our BioBat=3D99 is as=3D20
indestructible as our PlastiBat=3DAE=3DAD-the individual=3D20
bio-fibers are encapsulated inside the=3D20
thermoplastic; so that the material is resistant=3D20
to moisture, essentially waterproof=3DAD-but the=3D20
improved rigidity brings increased dimensional=3D20
stability so that removing clay pieces from the wheel head is easier.
As we continue on the path of socially=3D20
responsible manufacturing, we intend to introduce=3D20
more bio-composite materials into the Brent=3DAE line=3D20
of products. The implementation of alternative=3D20
materials used in our manufacturing processes may=3D20
come unannounced, so our customers may notice=3D20
slight changes in appearance and texture in some=3D20
products as we progress. Bio-composites typically=3D20
have a natural appearance, serving as a reminder=3D20
that additional resources were not wasted on aesthetics.=3D94
