Next Sunday - September 20,2009 the annual Art by the Lake art show and
sale will open This show takes place just below Birmingham Alabama off
of US Highway 280 just north of Harpersville, AL. on Deerwood Lake.
Deerwood Lake is an actual lake, and the lake is surrounded by
waterfront homes that comprise the gated community by the same name.

Here is a blurb about it.

*Art by the Lake* is almost here and we are ready for it! Deerwood Lake
is so generous to open up its lovely community for this event that
benefits Hannah Home Shelby. With more than 70 artists, boat rides, a
champagne brunch, hot New Orleans jazz by the Legendary Pineapple
Skinners, Catfish/Chicken baskets by Whiskers, and gourmet desserts, we
have a wonderful day in store. To start the day, the Jefferson State
Culinary School is preparing an outstanding Sneak Preview Patrons'
champagne brunch with omelets made with fresh farm eggs from Vincent,
blueberry muffins made with fresh, hand-picked, chemical-free
blueberries from Smith Farms, link sausage, organic stone-ground grits
from McGewen & Sons of Wilsonville, assorted fruits, champagne, mimosas,
wine and specialty coffees from Royal Cup. Please join us for a
delicious meal, the chance to beat the crowds and get first choice on
the art. If you're planning on coming, but have not RSVPed yet, please
call Rita Wood at 205-979-2669 or e-mail me, Marsha Drennen,
mwdrennen@aol.com, so we can give a count to the chefs. The cost is $50
per person. They are also preparing an unbelievable selection of
gourmet desserts, to include milk chocolate mocha truffle cuts, pecan
diamonds, pear frangipan tarts, double chocolate brownies, carrot cake,
apple streudel, old fashioned lemon squares, french macaroons, and fresh
fruit tarts with white chocolate cream.
More news-Barbara Ashford of English Village's Hen House Antiques has
agreed to do the flowers again! Our event has that special touch
because Barbara shares her time and talents to make our tables so
attractive. She's doing both the brunch and the picnic tables. Staying
with our "buying local" theme, we'll be using Jones Valley Urban Farms
sunflowers grown at the Mt. Laurel farm.
Please forward this on to your friends to help get the word out. Scroll
down for the invitation and directions. We're looking forward to a
great event for a great cause.
