I made some small basket shapes the other day, added partly stiffened
handles while the baskets were quite soft, then later realized the bottoms
needed a little trimming.
My solution was to upend the basket between 2 firebricks on the wheel, with
thin clay slabs on top. It worked really well. I've posted a picture of
this on my blog if you want to look.
